In het aprilnummer van vtwonen kun je sfeer en lente een beetje opsnuiven door het binnenkijken bij Wendy en Bas. Hun vrachtschip ligt vlak bij mijn huis en ze waren zo gastvrij om ons op een zonnige dag deze productie te laten schieten. De speurtocht naar de ultieme basis voor hun woonstijl voer langs viskotters, woonarken en zelfs een veerboot. Het werd een Kempenaar, een vrachtschip dat gemaakt is voor de grote sluizen van de Belgische Kempen. ‘Wij vielen voor de breedte van 6,60 meter.’ Dat hij 15 meter langer was dan toegestaan zagen ze niet als een probleem. Een middenstuk kon eruit. ‘Dat is vrij gebruikelijk’, weet Bas als schepenkenner. Terwijl het schip doormidden werd gezaagd bogen Bas en Wendy zich over het perfecte 3d-ontwerp voor hun leef- en woonstijl. Er was een duidelijke taakverdeling. Bas deed het technische deel en het projectmanagement, Wendy de indeling, inrichting en materiaalkeuzes. Ze ontwierp 3d-tekeningen om te zien hoe de zichtlijnen liepen en wat het effect van de ruimtes was. ‘Zo ontdekte ik dat je vanaf de bank via het terras zo de keuken in kunt kijken, fijn!’
In the April issue of vtwonen you can feel and snif a little bit of Spring while looking at the interior feature of Wendy and Bas: Binnenkijken op Zaans woonschip. Their freighter is near my house and they were so welcoming to have us a day to shoot this production. Here some photos you missed in the magazine. The quest for the ultimate basis for their living style took them along fishing boats, houseboats and even a ferry. It became a Kemper, a freighter that was made for the Belgian Kempen. “We fell for the width of 6.60 meters.” That it was 15 meters longer than was allowed, they did not see as a problem. A middle part could be taken out. “That’s pretty common,” Bas knows as a ships connoisseur. While the ship was cut in half arches Bas and Wendy created the perfect 3d design for their interior and living style. There was a clear division of labor. Bas did the technical part and the project management, Wendy the layout, design and material choices. She designed 3D drawings to see exactly the sight lines and the effect of the spaces. “I discovered that you can look into the kitchen from the couch, nice!”
